It's a pleasure to list these skillfully hand-carved wooden soccer loving bears, a shooter and a goalie mounted on a plinth in the middle of a penalty shoot out! The shooter is in a realistic, animated pose, the old-school "leather" football about to fly at the suitably cautious goalie, poised to block or dive at the moment of impact!

In the manner of Black Forest souvenir bears, this Soviet era piece would have been retailed as a souvenir to purchase by visitors to the USSR in the 1970s/1980s, available at Intourist airport shops and state retail outlets like GUM.

Both these soccer loving bears are in excellent vintage condition with no losses at all, just a couple of minor rubs and scuffs commensurate with age and light handling and barely (!) noticeable. Good patina.

To nourish and preserve the wood, these figures have been treated with Gilboy's beeswax polish, a 100% natural product.
